Since these mortgages are proposed to help qualified mortgage borrowers with budgetary needs, the requirements for a USDA direct home mortgage is, to some degree, stricter. The loanable amount is based on the borrower’s generated income and his or her ability to pay the loan. Another variable that impacts the maximum loanable amount is the area’s median generated income, which is based on the USDA Rural Development Map.
